Events in the Department
Educational Psychology congratulates Professor Hossam Hamdy on the renewal of the political leadership’s confidence in appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Education .
In a gesture of appreciation reflecting the depth of academic ties and support for the college’s success, a distinguished delegation of faculty members from the Department of Educational Psychology visited on 11/12/2025 to offer sincere congratulations and blessings to His Excellency Professor Dr. Hossam Hamdi, on the occasion of the issuance of the presidential decree renewing the political leadership’s confidence in appointing him as Dean of the College of Education .
During the meeting, the department members expressed their deep pride in His Excellency's continued leadership of the college towards further development and excellence, emphasizing their commitment to working together to continue the journey of academic and research achievements. The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque to His Excellency as a token of appreciation and ongoing support for his wise leadership .

A dual window combining theory and reality... The Department of Educational Psychology publishes the first issue of the cultural "Psychology Bulletin ".
In a significant step aimed at spreading psychological awareness and linking academic concepts to societal and everyday reality, the Department of Educational Psychology at the College of Education announced the release of the first issue of the " Psychology Bulletin " ( August 2025 issue ).
The newsletter is distinguished by its unique cultural and educational character, featuring a diverse and rich collection of articles and psychological analyses that are relevant to and address various audiences. The first issue covered several highly important topics, most notably :
· Generational Psychology : A Study of the Traits and Characteristics of a Generation Zalpha
· An inspiring psychological reading of the film
· "Survival amidst problems and pressures ."
· Insights into the Psychologist and Learning Difficulties Program .
· Discussion of the phenomenon of "Brain Rot"
· An interesting analytical article about "Jokes and their types," alongside an important awareness file entitled "Drug abuse... the easiest way to destroy societies ."
This edition represents a strong start for the department in simplifying psychological knowledge and turning it into a tool to serve the community and raise awareness among young people .

In a family atmosphere, the Department of Educational Psychology organizes a social day and celebrates its promoted members.
In order to strengthen human and social ties among its members, the Department of Educational Psychology organized a special social day on 1/5/2026 that brought together the faculty members and the assistant staff in a meeting filled with love, joy, and renewal of positive energy .
The day included a special and joyous celebration organized by the department to celebrate and honor a group of distinguished colleagues from the faculty who have earned the precious trust and were recently promoted to higher academic ranks, in recognition of their outstanding academic contributions and their continuous efforts in raising the banner of scientific research in the department and the college .
The attendees expressed their happiness with this kind gesture, which reflects the spirit of "one family" that always characterizes the Department of Educational Psychology .

The Department of Psychology witnessed several academic promotions during the 2025/2026 academic year.
Prof. Dr. Hany Fouad was promoted to the rank of Professor, while Dr. Hassan Makhlouf, Dr. Noha Mohamed Soliman, and Dr. Iman Mohamed Abdel-Aal were promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.
Additionally, Ms. Nadine Salah El-Din and Ms. Hend Taha were promoted to the rank of Assistant Lecturer. We extend our sincere congratulations to all faculty and supporting staff members, wishing them continued success and excellence.
Workshops and training courses in the department
The Psychology Department is organizing a series of specialized scientific workshops during the first semester.
As part of the Psychology Department’s commitment to enhancing scientific and applied aspects, and developing professional knowledge and skills among students and researchers, the department organized a series of specialized scientific workshops during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year , in the hall of Professor Dr. Amal Sadiq .
The series began with a workshop entitled “ Modern Trends in Psychology ” , which was held on Wednesday, October 15 , 2025 , and was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Noha Suleiman, where she addressed the most prominent developments and contemporary trends in psychology and their most important applications in academic and professional fields .
A second workshop entitled “ Modern Trends in the Field of Psychology ” was held on Wednesday , October 22, 2025 , and was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Abdel Aal, during which she reviewed the latest research developments and scientific practices in the various disciplines of psychology .
The series concluded with a workshop entitled “ The Stanford-Binet Scale and How to Apply It , ” which was held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 , and was presented by Dr. Shaimaa Khaled, who addressed the theoretical and practical aspects of the scale, its application mechanisms, and the interpretation of its results according to approved scientific principles .
These workshops come as part of the Psychology Department’s plan to support professional development and enhance the research and applied skills of students and researchers, in order to keep pace with the latest developments in the field of psychology .
As part of professional and research training, the Department of Educational Psychology is organizing two specialized workshops for its students (online).
Continuing the system of digital scientific activities and events organized by the Department of Educational Psychology to develop students' skills, a series of online training workshops were held for the Psychology Division, which received wide student interaction :
· The first workshop : Professor Dr. Nadia Abu Dunya presented a distinguished workshop and an enriching session in which she discussed " The interview as a tool of scientific research and in life in general ."
· The second workshop : The explanation was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Mu'ti, and it was entitled “ Educational and Vocational Guidance and the Role of the Teacher and the Psychologist in the Guidance Process .”
The students praised the practical benefits of the two workshops, which directly contribute to linking the theoretical aspect with the practical and professional reality in the labor market .
Distinguished academic presence: The Department of Educational Psychology participates in the International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Education at Helwan University
As part of the active academic presence of the department’s scholars in major research forums, distinguished gentlemen from the Department of Educational Psychology participated in the activities of the “ 22nd Scientific Conference and the 5th International Conference of the Faculty of Education - Helwan University ”.
The department was represented at the conference sessions by :

These outstanding contributions underscore the pioneering role of the Department of Educational Psychology in enriching scientific research and developing the educational system at both the local and international levels.

Department Conference
A year of achievements: The Department of Educational Psychology holds its annual conference, reviews its accomplishments, and honors its distinguished members.
As part of reviewing its academic career and evaluating its research output, the Department of Educational Psychology at the College of Education held its annual department conference on July 9, 2025 .
The conference featured a comprehensive and outstanding presentation of the department’s most prominent achievements and future aspirations, highlighting the research, cultural, community and training contributions made by the department throughout the academic year .
At the conclusion of the event, The department organized a joyous honoring ceremony, during which a distinguished group of faculty members and assistant staff were honored in appreciation of their sincere efforts and tireless contributions in supporting the department’s academic journey and achieving excellence to raise the college’s standing in scientific forums .

The Department of Educational Psychology held its 2024 annual conference, attended by faculty members and supporting staff. The event featured the honoring of outstanding department members, as well as faculty and supporting staff who achieved academic promotions during the year; this served to recognize their efforts and contributions to the educational and research processes, and to foster a culture of excellence and dedication within the department.
Department Graduation Projects
Excellence: The Department of Educational Psychology celebrates its students' graduation projects and honors their supervisors.
On May 4, 2026, the Department of Educational Psychology at the College of Education hosted the presentations of outstanding graduation projects by psychology students for the academic year. Through their research presentations, the students showcased promising ideas and applications in various fields of psychology, reflecting the high quality of academic preparation and practical training they received within the department .
In an atmosphere of cordiality and appreciation, and as a conclusion to the discussions, the department held a special ceremony to honor the distinguished members of the teaching staff and the assistant staff, in recognition of their sincere efforts and their diligent scientific care for the students throughout the period of supervising these projects and their emergence in this honorable manner .


Reaping the rewards of creativity: The Department of Educational Psychology discusses its students' graduation projects and honors their supervisors.
In a remarkable scientific event reflecting the quality of educational and research outputs, the Department of Educational Psychology at the College of Education held graduation project presentations for psychology students on May 1, 2025. The students presented promising research projects characterized by depth and innovation in addressing contemporary psychological and educational issues .
In recognition of the academic effort exerted, the events concluded with a ceremony honoring the distinguished faculty members and teaching assistants who supervised these projects, in appreciation of their tireless academic support and sound guidance that accompanied the students throughout the academic year until their projects emerged in this honorable manner and demonstrated research excellence.

The Department of Psychology witnessed several academic promotions during the 2025/2026 academic year.

Prof. Dr. Hossam Hamdy, Dean of the Faculty, and the entire Faculty of Education at Helwan University extend their sincere congratulations to Ms. Amira Mohsen a lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology on winning the Helwan University Award for Best Doctoral Dissertation in the field of Educational Studies for 2024.

Assistant Lecturer Aya Nasr El-Din received the award for the best master's thesis in the field of education for the 2023/2024 academic year, in recognition of her academic and research excellence.
